TOMOKAZU YAMADA

Born 1987.
A graduate of Nihon University College of Art Film Department Video Course.
Joins Caviar in 2015.
He is distinctive for his cinematic directing and concepts incorporating modern city theories.
His 2013 film project 47seconds was awarded WIRED’s WIRED CREATIVE HACK AWARD 2013 Grand Prix.
Since then, he has directed music videos for artists such as Wednesday Campanella and Sakanaction, and in 2018 he gained much attention for directing KID FRESINO’s Coincidence, which impacted not only the hip hop scene but also a wide age range, along with Kenshi Yonezu’s Lemon, which has garnered over 650M views on YouTube (as of 2021), and Aimyon’s Marigold among others.
He has directed TV dramas, films and many commercials for brands such as NIKE, Valentino × undercover, TOD’S, GIVENCHY, SUNTORY, GMO Click Securities, docomo and more. Beyond that, he also works as a photographer/cinematographer, filming branded campaigns, graphics, and for fashion magazines.

クリエイティヴチーム「Tokyo Film」主宰。
1987年生まれ。日本大学芸術学部映画学科映像コース卒業。
2015年よりキャビアに参加。
シネマティックな演出と現代都市論をモチーフとした映像表現が特色。
2013年、映像作品「47seconds」がWIRED主催WIRED CREATIVE HACK AWARD 2013グランプリ受賞。
その後、水曜日のカンパネラやサカナクションのミュージックビデオを手がけ、徐々に頭角を現して行く。
2018年にはヒップホップシーンのみならず幅広い世代に衝撃を与えたKID FRESINOの「Coincidence」や、
YouTube再生回数が6.5億回以上(2021年現在)を記録した米津玄師の「Lemon」、あいみょんの「マリーゴールド」など、数々の話題となったミュージックビデオを演出する。
また、NIKE、SUNTORY、GMOクリック証券、TOD’S、GIVENCHY、Valentino × undercover、docomo等の広告映像やファッション誌のビジュアル撮影も行うなど、その活動は多岐に渡る。
渋谷駅で行われたエキシビション「SHIBUYA / 森山大道 / NEXT GEN」にて”Beyond The City” を発表。
伊勢丹にて初の写真展「都市の記憶」開催。

AWARD
2018 – He is awarded MTV VMAJ 2018’s highest award BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR.
2019 – He wins the BEST VIDEO DIRECTOR award at SPACE SHOWER MUSIC AWARDS 2019.
He releases Beyond The City at an exhibition at Shibuya station called “Shibuya / Daido Moriyama / Next Gen”.
His first photography exhibition Toshi no Kioku (tr. Memories of a City) at Isetan.
